How to say I love you...
Sorry I've been out of pocket... life on the road!
This is the day before the annual Valentines Day celebration. A day when loved ones leave notes of affection in unexpected places or run out in a last ditch effort to make the "I really do love you" deadline with a card and partially crumpled box of chocolates. Yes... I have received them.
My favorite way to celebrate this day set aside for amore is to hand write notes and hide them around the house (or in today's technological era... send a text message) with one or two reasons why I love them. It could be because they are always "there" for me, or maybe in my youngest son's case, it's because he gives the greatest hugs (which I look forward to everytime he comes home from school).
My older children have moved out of the house and have lives of their own, but just a text-hug or love-u-call tells them, "I'm thinking about you now and you're important to me." I admit, it takes me stopping what ever important thing I'm working on and making the effort to do the deed, but it's so worth it.
One of the things I want 2008 to be remembered for, is as the year I personally touched more lives in a positive way than ever before. So if it means leaving notes, making a call, writing on napkins I place in a lunchbox, or simply hugging a neck... I pray God will give me the opportunities.
